How do I cancel a customer's financing application?

Whether you have a change in job scope or a change in your customer's payment preference, you have the ability to cancel a financing application up until it has been paid. 

All applications that have not been paid expire on their own after 90 days and do not need to be formally canceled. However, if you would prefer the application to be canceled immediately for any reason, please refer to the instructions below.

If you send Wisetack financing applications through the Merchant Portal, you can cancel a loan directly in the portal. Navigate to Applications, then click the loan you would like to cancel. Once on the loan details page, click the Cancel Loan button. This feature is not available after the customer has paid. If that is the case, our support team can assist with refunds.

If you send Wisetack financing applications through your software platform, please contact our support team to cancel the application.

  1. Which user role types can cancel financing? 
    • All users can cancel financing. However, Limited user roles can only cancel financing applications that they started.  Get a refresher on user permissions here
  2. I don’t see the Cancel Loans button on the transaction details page. Where did it go?
    • If you don’t see the option to cancel a financing application, it’s likely because the customer has already paid. 
  3. If I cancel financing, will my customer get a refund
    • Canceling financing is not the same as requesting a refund. You can not cancel financing once it has been marked as paid. After you have been paid via financing, you or your customer will need to contact our support team to request a refund or a partial refund if needed.
